Welcome to Stargate Maelstrom!

In the year 2019, the U.S. Department of Defense has one of the largest budgets of any known agency on the planet earth. Many of the budget restrictions imposed on its various branches of services were lifted, priority of those where the closing of bases throughout the United States of America and the world. One such base, was the Cheyenne Mountain Complex in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The facility, which was mothballed due to the 7.4 Billion dollar annual budget it had, was selected by the United State Air Force for retrofitting to be it’s new Space Command. However, the recent reappearance and reactivation of a Stargate, codenamed Maelstrom, has changed the priorities of not only the USAF, but the current Administration and that of the world, seeking to ensure that the past does in fact, not repeat itself.

With more questions than answers, the President has authorized the reactivation of Homeworld Command with Stargate Command standing up once more to investigate this phenomenon. Brigadier General Frank McAlister has been charged with securing and ensuring our planet, our earth does not suffer the fate reported in top secret files of planets and civilizations locked away.

Current Mission:
The re-activation of the Stargate has promoted a computer system lock-down with nothing but the destination codes for a gate that has never been used before by the program. The only file accessible by the team says it's the Red Water Protocol and that upon activation of the gate, computer systems would return full control to SGC. The question now remains weather the first off-world mission of the program in years is a trap for the teams of SG:M.

"Through the command and control of all DOD deep recon satellites, stargate operators provide force-multiplying effects -- continuous global coverage, low vulnerability and autonomous operations. SG teams provide essential interplanetary secure communications, weather and navigational data for ground, air and future fleet operations and threat warning.

Ground-based radar, Space-Based Infrared System and Defense Support Program satellites guard against a surprise attack on the United States and planet Earth. Maintaining superiority is an emerging capability required to protect U.S, and wee welcome you to join our team to ensure this priority of exploration and defense is meet head-on."

Hello SG:Maelstrom,

Needless to say, our simulation is off to a great start, we've filled enough positions to start active missions and join the simming community as a premiere destination for Stargate RP. In the coming weeks, we'll have a list of sites in our running log to go to and assist with recruitment, but until that time, feel free to promote SG:M on your own.

If you new to the site, take a look at our awards section to get ideas on what type of character you'd like to introduce here. Otherwise if you see a section of the site you'd like to contribute to, please let the staff know so we can best assist you. We reward those who work hard for the sim. Looking forward to seeing, simming and working with all of you.

Hello!

I'm David and I will be playing SG-1's Assistant Commander, Captain Jacob "Jake" Asher. The the application acceptance message, I was told to start a JP with the CO (which I did), the XO (as soon as I figure out who that is or if there is one, I'll do that, too) and that Phil would write a news item welcoming me to the sim. Now, we all know that Phil is a busy guy, and I have a bit more control over my schedule, so I thought I'd take care of the welcome news item for him. You know me, always willing to lend a helping hand. So...

Welcome...um...me...to Stargate Maelstrom! I look forward to writing with all of you in the coming weeks and months. Depending how long my JP with Phil seems like it's going to take, I plan to start JPs with the rest of you soon as well. However, don't feel the need to wait for me to come to you! Feel free to shoot me a PM and suggest a JP or just start one!

Thanks to Phil and Charley for accepting my application.

Again, welcome to me!

David
